Getting Started with Advice

Browser Compatibility

LoveToKnow Advice strives to work with a wide range of web browsers. However, we recommend using the latest version of Firefox to access all the available features.

Get latest Firefox.

While you can give and get advice from mobile products, you will not be able to use rich text or add links to your posts from these devices currently.

Getting Advice

To request advice, from any page with a "Get advice" box:

• Type a summary of your issue. You'll have the opportunity to add more detail on the next page.

• Please give us enough detail so we can meaningfully advise you.
• We ask that you include tags with your question. Tags are short descriptive words that help us categorize your advice. You don't have to add them, but they are helpful. Consider looking at the common tags to see if any are applicable to your issue.
• Then, just post your request.
• Once your request is posted, you will go to your request page.
• Bookmark this page and check back often for expert responses!

Giving Advice

If you see an advice request that you can help with – please do!

• Simply click on the request and you will see a box to allow you to answer the request!
• In addition to addressing the request, feel free to share your expertise. For example, if you are giving advice on dog care, are you a veterinary tech? A dog breeder? Or have you had canine companions for 10 years? Let the requestor know why you are qualified to give advice.
• Once you've given a detailed answer, just click "post advice."
