Amityville Horror
Based on a true story, the movie brings to life the horrors experienced by
those who lived in an old house in Amityville. The story, made into a book,
made into a movie, was first released in 1979 and starred James Brolin and
Margo Kidder. The move was then remade in 2005, when an entire family is
terrorized by demons. There were
several sequels
following the original Amityville Horror, including Amityville II: The
Possession, Amityville: A New Generation, Amityville 3-D and Amityville 4:
The Evil Escapes. |

Halloween
Fans of Michael Myers will want to gather up all the Halloween movies and

Jaws
The movie that made everyone scared to go into the ocean is a true horror
classic. Although it can still be caught on television from time to time, it
is still worth renting or buying the DVD. This is another horror film with
sequels, creating the opportunity for a movie marathon featuring the
mindless predator of the great white shark. More than 30 years later and
this movie is still popular enough to inspire a host of
Jaws
products, including games such as the
Playstation 2 Jaws Unleashed,
plush toys
that play the Jaws theme song and posters and collectibles. |

Misery
In this psychological thriller, Annie Wilkes (played by Kathy Bates) is
author Paul Shelden's (played by James Caan) biggest and most disturbed fan.
She will stop at absolutely nothing to keep him in her home and under her
control. Kathy Bates gives a brilliant performance that will leave you
scared to even pick up a pen, much less write a book. This film was released
in 1990 and has quickly become a staple in any horror movie lover's

The Omen
Find out the meaning of 666 and why the boy Damien in this movie is truly

Poltergeist
1982 movie starring the late Heather O'Rourke, a blonde haired actress who
rose to fame for her portrayal of Carol Anne. Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth
Williams also star in the movie. The movie was nominated for 3 Oscars.
Probably one of the most interesting things about this movie is the belief
that the movie was cursed. The
Poltergeist curse resulted in lost film time, illnesses from the stars,
set tragedies and many other frightening stories. The first movie was
followed by two sequels. |

Prom
Night
If the 1980 movie scared you, the 2008 remake will send you hiding under
your covers. The remake stars many lesser known teen stars, but they give a
worthy performance that leaves the viewer on the edge of his theater seat.
This movie isn't for the weak stomached as it has a blood, gore and gripping
moments and isn't appropriate for young children. But if you like a good
scare, then grab the
DVD release of this movie and compare it to the 1980 version for a night
packed with teen horror. You'll even find

1960 movie starring Anthony Perkins is a true testimony to Alfred
Hitchcock's filmmaking genius. The introduction of this film paved the way
for many other horror classics, such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hotel
Hell. It is often seen as the beginning of the cheap and gory slasher film
genre. You'll find many
