Alcatraz The island
prison was opened in 1934 and operated until 1963. During that time,
hundreds of the hardest core criminals around were imprisoned there.
Before that, confederate prisoners and other convicts were housed in the
darkest of conditions in the basement of guard house. Over the years,
many men perished at Alcatraz. Today, visitors
tour the island during the day. These visitors take the same path a
prisoner would have taken. There have been many reports of ghostly

Adams, Tennessee, Bell Witch Cave has an interesting history. The story
centers around the Bell family back in the early 1800s. They experienced

The Bell Witch tormented the family and promised to return. Because of
the strange things that happen in the area, many of the people in town

Bobby Mackey's Music World
Located just outside Cincinnati, in Wilder, Kentucky, Bobby Mackey's
Music World is also known as Hell's Gate. It is interesting because it
is a haunted honky-tonk. There are many reported cases of poltergeists
and demonic activity surrounding Hell's Gate. The story goes that the
basement of the honky-tonk was used by Satan worshippers in years past.
Activity has included objects moving, scratches and sightings. The night

haunted tours on Friday and Saturday nights of its highly active

Lemp Mansion Lemp Mansion
is located in St. Louis, Missouri. The mansion dates back to the 1860s
and was built by the Lemp family, who owned a brewery in St. Louis. The
Lemp family dealt with many tragedies. There is a natural cavern under
the mansion and a tunnel to the brewery. The mansion offers paranormal
tours called the
Lemp Experience. Tours are as inexpensive as $25, or you can pay to

Lincoln Theater in Decatur
Built in 1916, the Lincoln Theater is no longer in operation except for
special events, but that doesn't keep its ghosts from wandering. Those
who used to attend the theater when it was operating talk about skitters

the balcony. The theater sits on top of where a hotel burned down and
two men died. There have been reports since the 1930s that the theater

San Diego, California, you'll want to visit The Whaley House. There have
been several ghosts reported at the home. The house served many roles in
the area, including a courthouse. Before the house was built, it is
rumored that people were hung on the location. The house is so famous
for its hauntings that California declared it a state landmark. The

Waverly Hills Sanatorium
Louisville, Kentucky is home to the haunted Waverly Hills. This former
sanatorium and tuberculosis hospital operated from the 1920s to the

she built a huge house to accommodate the spirits. Sarah Winchester
continued to add to the house as long as she lived. Many people report
