Tools include things like links to other reading sites around the web. Check out the Prize Library to discover the types of prizes kids can work toward earning. The site even offers a book finding wizard where kids can put in their grade level and subjects that interest them and get back a list of possible books to read.
Between the Lions
This site wants kids to "get wild about reading". You'll find a ton of great resources for kids who love to read. The best place to start is on the Stories page. You'll find books on video in this section. Click on the title and a video will load. As the video plays the book will unfold for you. The words are up on the screen and highlighted as they are read and the illustrations come to life for the reader. Other areas on this site include topics such as reading games, video clips and a special section to help parents and teachers with reading activities.
Reading Lady

In addition to a regular blog by the Reading Lady, which gives hints and tips about comprehension and developing a love of reading, you'll also find a section called Readers' Theater. Read books online like Emily Elizabeth Goes to School. The books are highly interactive, so even the most tech savvy early reader can enjoy flipping through the electronic pages. The way the books work is that the illustration from the book appears along with a few sentences. The child can click an icon to have each sentence read. The last sentence is a fill-in-the-blank and the child can choose to change the story to whatever she wants by changing the word.
