Things to Do in Las Vegas

Top 10 List     how we choose
Bellagio Light and Water Fountain Show
This amazing hotel has an eight acre lake located in front of the hotel. The fountain itself is inside that lake and shows set to music and dancing water and light occur every night. The show is 100 percent free and one of the best attractions in Las Vegas. Some claim that the fountain is one of the most intricate fountains ever created. Another famous Las Vegas attraction, albeit not free, is also at Bellagio and that is Cirque du Soleil.
Caesar's Palace
This hotel has been around Vegas for a while, but if you're looking for an interesting day show, this is a sure hit. The indoor shopping mall has a ceiling that changes as though real weather, day, night and other effects are happening indoors. When you come to the Atlantis Fountain, stop and rest for a bit and wait for the next Atlantis Fountain Show where the statues come to life and have a nice little talk that is sure to entertain.
Circus Circus
Many travelers with kids choose to stay at this hotel that is fun for kids of all ages. A huge complex, the hotel includes free ongoing circus shows and specialty acts, a shopping strip, a midway with a variety of games and an indoor adventure park. The Adventuredome is probably the most unique aspect of this hotel and includes 25 different rides and attractions as well as games, shopping, snacks and enough fun to last until your next vacation.
Eiffel Tower
Go to Las Vegas to visit Paris. The Paris Las Vegas is a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada set up to look like the city of Paris, complete with an Eiffel Tower. The Tower is lit at night, giving it a beautiful glow. Rooms can be gotten for quite a reasonable rate when the trip is booked far enough in advance or in the off season. The Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas is exactly half the size of the real one in Paris, France. An elevator whisks visitors to the top, where they have a fabulous view of the Las Vegas skyline.
Fremont Street
Visiting Fremont is more of an experience than a simple sightseeing tour and that is likely why locals call this the Fremont Street Experience. In addition to being home to some legendary casinos, offering street entertainment and shopping, the area is home to many restaurants. There are also regular laser light shows that light up the area and create a dazzling effect. If you can't make it to Vegas, then you might want to take a virtual tour of Fremont Street.
Hoover Dam
While Hoover Dam isn't in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, it is what powers the amazing lights in this town that has sprung up in the middle of a desert. There are regular tours offered at the dam. You can tour the power plant to learn how the energy from the water powers the town and how the dam is maintained. The photograph gallery has both historic and modern pictures of the dam from various angles and http://cf.ltkcdn.net/www/top10 of old post cards.
Mirage's Volcano
The Mirage hotel has an enormous fountain in front where a light and fire show goes off every night, so closely resembling a volcano that you almost expect to feel the earth tremble. If the weather allows for it, the volcano erupts every night starting at 8:00 p.m. and erupting every hour until midnight. The Mirage also hosts various entertainers, singers and other acts to help entertain hotel guests. Special performances are the norm, so check the website for details on upcoming shows.
Stratophere
This hotel is located on the northern end of the Las Vegas strip, nearer to Fremont Street. On top of the Stratosphere, which is 1,149 feet tall, there is entertainment such as a giant teeter totter that hangs you out from the edge of the Stratosphere and a ride called Big Shot. These rides are not for the faint of heart or anyone who has a paralyzing fear of heights. The hotel also offers entertaining, dining and nightlife.
The Strip
The strip encompasses numerous casinos and attractions from the north end of the strip all the way to the south. Because there are so many unique and wonderful attractions in Las Vegas, it would be impossible to list them all in a single list. However, walking The Strip will showcase many of the hotels not mentioned here, such as New York New York and MGM. The Strip really lights up at night, so you won't want to miss it in the evening.
Venetian
If you've ever wanted to visit Venice but can't quite make it to Italy, you'll likely love the Venetian. Take a Gondola ride through the hotel and you'll almost believe you're in the real Venice. Get a complete list of currently playing entertainment. There are also nightclubs, swimming and, of course, gambling. Because the Venetian is such a beautiful hotel, many weddings are conducted on the premises.
