Josh is freelance journalist and copywriter from the Midwest. He has written about travel, green living, and personal finance for the past six years. During this time he has become intimately familiar with these subjects.
Travel and Tourism
Josh lived in East Asia for five years. He spent time teaching English in Vietnam and traveling through Thailand and Hong Kong. Somewhere along the way, he developed a passion for writing. Josh launched his writing career covering Asian travel destinations and the airline industry for the popular travel blog Gadling before returning home to the US to write about eco-tourism for the green living web site Mother Nature Network. His travel articles have also appeared on CNN.com and Forbes.
Leveraging his love of nature, Josh added eco-tourism to his writing portfolio. He currently writes a weekly nature travel column for Mother Nature Network. He has also written about nature and environmental issues for WebEcoist. Whether he is a couple hours from home, hiking along the North Shore of Lake Superior, or biking through Southeast Asia, nature is always a major part of any trip that Josh takes.
As a frequent traveler, Josh has become an expert in getting the most out of airline rewards cards, and has also, mostly through trial and error, become adept at avoiding the pitfalls that snare so many credit card users. These experiences earned him a job writing and editing copy for the CreditCardCity website, where he had a chance to become even more familiar with the ins and outs of credit cards
