As a diamond buyer for numerous jewelry stores and as an appraiser, Megan has graded, evaluated, and priced millions of dollars worth of diamonds over the years. The world's premier diamond grading and gemstone lab, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), originated the diamond grading scale used by every jeweler and diamond dealer in the industry.
As a graduate of GIA, Megan is well-versed in the universally recognized language of diamonds. Megan has conducted numerous sales training seminars and has helped sales teams increase their diamond selling potential.
Jewelry Appraiser
As head appraiser for one of the largest, family-owned jewelry stores on the east coast, Megan not only provided insurance and estate appraisals, she often provided cash appraisals for customers willing to part with their unwanted jewelry. Estate jewelry is a particular passion of hers, and customers often brought her suitcases filled with heirloom jewelry to be identified and appraised.
Diamond jewelry is the lifeblood of the jewelry industry and, as a gemologist and a jeweler, Megan delights in rare and unusual gems and metals. Working in upscale, fine jewelry stores from coast to coast has enabled her to develop a discerning eye and an appreciation for fine craftsmanship.
