Top Web Browsers

Top 10 List     how we choose
Avant
This free web browser offers a lot of nice features that users will appreciate, such as the ability to have online profile storage. Avant will save most visited sites and store information that can then be accessed from any computer anywhere. It is very similar to Internet Explorer, but with fewer features. It states that it is the fastest browser on the web, but reviews suggest otherwise. Before deciding if you want to download Avant, you may want to visit the chat forums and talk with other users.
Deepnet Explorer
Deepnet Explorer claims to be the world's first browser with an RSS news reader and phishing alarm. It does offer the ability to browse with expandable tabs. It will block pop-ops in addition to the anti-phishing features, but you'll still need virus and spyware protection. The speed of Deepnet Explorer seems to be on of the features that users appreciate most about this browser.
Flock
Flock advertises themselves as the "social web browser". If you enjoy visiting social networking sites, then this may be a great option for your next browser. Visit the community area of Flock to find out how others are utilizing the features of this browser. Has many standard features of other browsers, like tabbed browsing, spell checker and ability to share news, updates and photos. Some people complain that Flock runs a bit sluggishly, however.
Google Chrome
Compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, Google Chrome is a newer browser to land on the scene. It is completely free, as are most of the popular browser options. One of the biggest features they claim is fast start-up, loading and searches. You can use tab browsing, but can re-arrange tabs to suit your tastes or even browse anonymously in one window and by your username in another.
Maxthon
This browser may not be as well known as some of the big names out there, but it comes out kicking with some really intuitive features. In addition to your typical tabbed browsing, you'll also find support for multiple languages. Want to change the look of your browser? There are free skins available. You'll also gain pop-up blockers. Maxthon also offers a special featured called anti-freezing to keep your browser window from freezing up.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Even though they are no longer the only kid on the block, Microsoft is still a big kid and their explorer is arguably the most popular browser around. One of the most important features of the newer versions of Internet Explorer includes accelerators which make for faster browsing. Another important aspect of the newer versions is the ability to set parental controls and to have different users with different permissions for the same web browser.
Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla claims to have the "world's best web browser", and they just might be right. Chock full of features, Firefox has all the benefits of some of the pricier browsers and none of the drawbacks. There are numerous plug-ins and add-ons to make Firefox do just about anything you want. One of the most highly reviewed features of Firefox is the speed at which you can browse and enhanced security from virus threats and pop-ups.
Opera
This browser offers web surfing capability for PCs and mobile devices. Opera also has quite a few add-ons to enhance your browsing experience, add security and sometimes just to have more fun. Opera has some unique elements, such as interactive voice, thumbnail previews, quick find and skins that can be customized to match your personality. However, be sure you like Opera before you get rid of your old browser as some people find it to be buggy in regards to chat rooms and online games.

Safari
Apple's take on web browsing. They also claim to be the "world's fastest web browser". Reviews suggest Safari does offer decent browsing speeds. Learn about some of the features in the new Safari that make it a good choice for some users. For example, you can see thumbnails of your favorite sites and click to them quickly and easily. You can also search through past history to find a site you may have visited last week and wish to return to. If you're a developer, you'll appreciate the available developer add-ons.

Sea Monkey
The title of this browser may make you smile and remember little packets of dried brine from childhood, but the browser itself is nothing to laugh about. The project is what is known as an "all-in-one Internet application suite". Some of the abilities of this browser include quick start-up, resizable areas for web forms and full-screen videos. Sea Monkey is working on some useful add-ons, such as NewsFox, ad blockers, add-on security features and even a chat room client.
