Tamsen entered the financial sector after completing an enlistment with the United States Air Force. Starting as a loan processor for a small military lender, she then switched gears and worked for a large credit union where she served in a variety of capacities including mortgage loan officer, mortgage closer, and branch manager. The author of two personal finance books, Tamsen won the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Award for Young Adult Non-Fiction for The Complete Guide to Personal Finance: For Teenagers and College Students.

An avid volunteer, she teaches budgeting classes at a local women's center.

Health and Fitness

Tamsen enjoys a healthy, active lifestyle. She teaches group fitness classes at a variety of fitness centers and also volunteers with local organizations to provide fitness classes free of charge. She's a group fitness instructor licensed through AFAA and a certified personal trainer through NCEP.
