We're three generations into Star Wars fans, and the hype isn't cooling anytime soon. While you don't need to be strong in the force to find some galactic collectibles worth grabbing, the most expensive Star Wars toys and action figures are far harder to find.
Prototype "J-Slot" Boba Fett Action Figure: $1.34 Million

Star Wars memorabilia fans know how special Kenner's Star Wars mail-in action figures from the late 1970s are. Regularly raking in thousands of dollars at auction, these action figures are always something to keep an eye out for.
But the holy grail — an ultra-rare "J-Slot" prototype Boba Fett with a near mint grade — came to auction in 2024 and swept existing sales records away with its $1.34 million price tag.

We're not done with Boba Fett action figures just yet! Kenner's mail-in Boba Fett action figure prototypes featured more than one rocket-launching mechanism, one resembling the letter "L" and the other the letter "J."
Double-Telescoping Darth Vader Action Figure: $130,095

January 2025 shook up the Star Wars collector's market with the massive Jeff Jacobs Collection sale through Hake's Auctions. One of the auction's top earners was an illustrious double-telescoping Darth Vader action figure from 1978 — another early Kenner toy to look out for.
Only four of these carded "DT" Darth Vaders are known to exist, so it's no wonder this one pulled in $130,095.
Another standout late-70s Kenner action figure is the double-telescoping Obi-Wan Kenobi. Whether it's a prototype or the highest grade of its kind, action figures of Luke's iconic mentor always draw attention at auction.
In 2025, one carded "DT" Obi-Wan Kenobi action figure came up for sale, eventually racking up an impressive $105,182.13 price tag.

When it comes to droids, Star Wars is full of them. For fans of the sassy astromech droid, the 1978 Kenner action figure probably tops your wish list.
One lucky collector was able to nab this small-but-mighty toy for their collection in the 2025 Hake's auction for $38,940. As an unpunched, carded Artoo-Detoo with the highest grade thus far, it's unsurprising that it broke records.
There might be many villains in the Star Wars franchise, but the most vile has to be Jabba the Hutt. However, his iconic slug-like body makes for iconic merchandise.
Keep your peepers peeled for the Return of the Jedi playset featuring Jabba the Hutt and Salacious Crumb because one boxed set sold in early 2025 for $38,940.
With only two graded Bib Fortuna action figure prototypes on record, the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi toy remains one of the most expensive on the market. Because of how rare these red-caped figurines are, you can expect sales prices in the tens of thousands.
In fact, a recently sold Bib Fortuna went for $31,200 to one lucky collector.
Luke Skywalker Telescoping Lightsaber Action Figure: $28,800
Nothing is more infamous for Star Wars collectors than the '77-'78 telescoping lightsaber action figures. These do come to auction a few times a year, and they always sell really well, Luke Skywalker telescoping lightsaber figurines, in particular. Recently, one sold for $28,800 and another sold for $15,600 in separate Heritage Auction sales.
There are too many Star Wars Lego sets to count, but boxes that've never been opened are worth about $5,000-$10,000, on average. For example, a Star Wars: Cloud City (10123) set sold for $10,199 on eBay.
Game Boy has had its resurgence in the past few years, due in large part to Pokémon getting a cultural reset. Unfortunately for '90s kids who still have their old Game Boys, Star Wars games are hard to find and expensive today. For example, a nearly perfect sealed copy of Capcom's 1992 Star Wars sold at Heritage Auctions for $7,200.
Not every valuable Star Wars toy has to be from the original series. In fact, a number of popular capsule collections have come out since the original trilogy was released. For example, KAWS brought their specific x'ed out artistic style to some of the most popular characters.
Only 500 of these Darth Vader vinyl sculptures were made, making them rather valuable. One recently sold on LiveAuctioneers for $1,800.
Throughout the franchise, Kenner has produced several recognizable sets from the films, such as the iconic Imperial Tie Fighters. In their best, unopened condition, these Tie-Fighters can be worth upwards of $1,000. But, you shouldn't sniff your nose at unboxed ones, because they're worth collecting, too. One just sold on eBay for $500.
Given how embedded Star Wars is in pop culture, its popularity isn't waning anytime soon, and Star Wars toy values will continue to climb. While these big-budget action figures and toys might be out of your reach, other '70s toys might not!
