Lisa Kahn is a professional writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in travel, food, home and garden, health care and consumer products. She has edited numerous books, including an award-winning cookbook, Char-Broil's Everybody Grills. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Star-Ledger, New York Spaces and many other print and digital outlets. Born and raised in New York City, Lisa earned her degree in journalism from Boston University.
Lisa has particular expertise in travel, tourism, hotels and destination marketing. She has helped promote tourism for New York City's official convention and visitors bureau and has worked on publicity campaigns for Le Parker Meridien, Sheraton New York and InterContinental Hotels Group. Lisa wrote a series of special sections for The New York Times aimed at renewing post-9/11 visitors to Lower Manhattan, and was a contributing author of the Fodor's Travel Guide, Where to Weekend Close to NYC. Her travel content has also appeared on the Priceline.com website as well as USA Today, Travel & Leisure, Meetings & Conventions and many other print and digital outlets.
Lisa has earned her living as a freelance writer and editor for most of her career. Residing near the media capital of the world, Lisa has had the good fortune to forge many industry connections and work with some of the country's most respected publications. She is delighted to share tips and advice with fledgling freelancers based on her hard-won knowledge and experience.
As part of her extensive travel industry experience, Lisa helped to promote cruise vacations for the Cruise Lines Industry Association (CLIA). She continues to keep her eye on new developments, destinations and deals for cruise lovers.
Lisa has researched and written about numerous theme park destinations in North America for Priceline.com and other media, and can recommend hotels, attractions, entertainment and freebies for families planning a theme-park vacation.

Lisa is an avid home cook and the editor of two award-winning grilling cookbooks. When she isn't puttering in the kitchen, she enjoys exploring New York City's artisanal food shops and hip new restaurants. Lisa has also written extensively about home design and has edited numerous books on remodeling and renovation. She loves to help friends and family create beautiful living spaces on a budget. Lisa passionately supports animal adoption and owns a (very spoiled) rescued dog.
