Stephanie Suesan Smith, Ph.D.

Stephanie Suesan Smith, Ph.D.has been a freelance writer and editor since 1991. She has written on a wide variety of topics for a wide array of publications, from academic to consumer. She has two books out Preparing a Vegetable Garden from the Ground Up and Vegetable Gardening in North Central Texas. Dr. Smith has particular expertise in dating and relationships, gardening, and dogs.

Dating and Relationships

Dr. Smith has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and has studied dating and relationships in different demographics. She did consumer satisfaction research after obtaining her Ph.D. This taught her to research current trends in important subjects such as relationships.


Dr. Smith has been a master gardener since 2001. She writes numerous gardening articles monthly for various publications. Her specialites are vegetables, fruits, nuts, and berries.


Dr. Smith has had dogs for 43 years. She did competative obedience with her dogs in the 90s and won an award for having the youngest Poodle qualify at the Poodle Specialty that day. She obtained a CDX on that Poodle. Dr. Smith spent a decade doing Pointer rescue. She was among the founders of and has personally rescued and rehomed well over 100 Pointers. Each dog was spayed/neutered, given all his shots, crate trained, housebroken, and taught house manners before being placed in a pet home. Dr. Smith has three dogs of her own today.
