Terryn Kelly is a licensed cosmetologist and a journalist who currently resides in Central Texas. She has received an education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she served as a Transitions Editor for The Bells Newspaper. She has also been published in the Belton Journal and Connections Plus Magazine. Terryn has worked as a nail technician and hairstylist and is a licensed cosmetologist. Her writing expertise focuses on makeup, skin care, and hair.
Terryn earned her cosmetology license in 2008, and soon after began to work for the popular chain salon SmartStyle. During her employment at this establishment, she received further training on the correct practices for chemical applications to the hair, trending hair cutting techniques, and the best types of products to use for specific hair types. Terryn also received additional training on sewing in weaves, braids, and the correct removal process for both.
Makeup and Skin Care
Terryn began her love affair with makeup at the tender age of six after receiving her first set of play cosmetics for her birthday. She always knew she wanted to have a career in the beauty industry that would allow her at experiment with makeup. Her junior year of high school she started her much anticipated journey to receive her education in cosmetology. She was able to gain hands-on experience with contouring faces, how to arch the perfect eye brow, and which colors are flattering on different skin tones. Terryn also received training on giving facials, microdermabrasion, and extractions.
